Level 3 Investment Services Apprentice
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to kick-start their career at a prestigious and award-winning Wealth Management firm based in St James’s Park, London. In your role you will be working as a member the Investment Services team alongside the Head of Platforms and Operations, allowing you to directly benefit from their breadth of knowledge and experience, assisting the team in a broad range of operational and investment tasks.

Starting Wage:

What Will the Apprentice Be Doing?

As an apprentice, your role will be to develop your skills through practical experience so that you can confidently perform the duties of an Investment Services Assistant in a variety of areas:

  • Custody and client money reconciliations.
  • Depositing and withdrawing client funds and dealing with the company’s banks.
  • Cash book and client portfolio accounting.
  • Processing settlement instructions, including contract notes and payments.
  • Processing client income.
  • Dealing on client accounts.
  • Maintenance of the firm’s investment strategies held on third-party platforms.
  • Updating monthly factsheets and running performance data.

Training and Qualifications:

From the commencement of your course onwards, you will spend a period of the working week (Monday - Friday) dedicated to study and attending relevant courses provided by the selected training company. The remaining time will be spent working at the company office, or remotely from home. This will allow you to apply skills you have learnt in a real-world environment.

The apprentice will study for the Investment Operations Certificate (IOC), an established qualification taken by practitioners globally to enhance their knowledge and skills of the administration and operations areas of the financial services industry. The qualification will provide you with an overview of the financial services industry and its regulation, whilst also covering technical activities which are relevant to the area in which you will be working.

Expected Career Progression After This Apprenticeship:

Achieved qualifications, effort, attitude, and work-based achievements will be regularly reviewed with the candidate to ensure they complete the apprenticeship successfully and to the best of their ability.

At the end of the apprenticeship, an appraisal will be held to discuss possible progression within your role.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to kick-start their IT career at a prestigious and award-winning Wealth Management firm based in St James’s Park, London. In your role, you will be working as a key member of the IT department, providing technical support to all other departments within the company to help ensure the smooth running of the company IT systems. This will include both software and hardware-related support, both remote and in-person. You will be taking calls, logging issues, and reporting resolution progress updates. You will need excellent communication skills and must be prepared to go the extra mile to help resolve issues. You will receive support and training from work colleagues but will also be encouraged to research and solve problems independently. This is a great opportunity to gain exposure to a wide range of technical aspects of IT support, while developing your existing skills in an experienced team.

What Will the Apprentice Be Doing?

As an apprentice, your role will be to develop your skills through practical experience so that you can confidently perform the duties of a Technical Support Assistant in a variety of areas:

  • Providing 1st and 2nd line support for internal staff, ensuring any issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Logging calls, escalating where necessary, and keeping staff informed of progress.
  • Troubleshooting, configuring, and assisting with various software packages, including internally developed software.
  • Performing regular maintenance schedules (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.) to a high standard. Resolving issues identified where possible and escalating when appropriate.
  • Monitoring scheduled backups and escalating issues when they occur.
  • Completing hardware builds and software installations as required.
  • Assisting with network upgrades (provisioning, setting up wired and wireless hardware).
  • Assisting in the evaluation of new products and services.
  • Using mobile device management software to manage staff phones.
  • Assisting with desktop telephone issues and configuration, including softphones.
  • Assisting the senior IT team members with all areas of the firm’s infrastructure configuration.
  • Ensuring appropriate documentation is created and maintained for all UK systems and related processes.
  • Other administrative support to the IT department and the wider business as necessary.

Training and Qualifications:
